    Daniel is responsible for implementing the firm's development strategy and for providing leadership direction, continually reviewing the plans for taking the firm forward in the years ahead.

    His work involves providing specialist advice to clients on corporate and personal international tax planning and strategic tax matters covering all aspects of the firm's practice and advises on a broad cross section of financial planning and investment matters.

    Daniel acts for a range of high profile clients in sport, music, film, media, entertainment and technology advising on private client and commercial issues.

    He focuses on advising ultra-high and high net worth individuals, family offices and trusts on both UK and international tax matters.

    Daniel has been recognised as a prominent figure within the industry and is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and has completed the Advanced Certificate in UK Tax for International Clients.

  • Rakesh Patel

    RAKESH PATEL

    SENIOR PARTNER

    Rakesh heads up the Transaction Services team of Adler Shine.

    Having worked on more than 40 public company transactions, Rakesh has considerable experience in Transaction Services, dealing with acquisitions, disposals, mergers, private placings and stock market flotations.

    His experience in this area of expertise has been recognised by the Institute of Chartered Accountants granting Rakesh the Corporate Finance qualification.

    Rakesh spent some time in industry as Group Financial Controller of Ryman, Contessa and La Senza.

    He also sits on the Board of various public companies bringing commercial and financial experience to these companies.

    Rakesh has been recognised as a prominent figure within the industry.

    Rakesh is an active member of BAPS, a socio-religious Hindu charity where he is a director of its trading subsidiary set up to generate funds from commercial activities which are donated entirely to the Charity.

  • Stephen Holmes

    STEPHEN HOLMES

    Stephen heads the firm’s Business Process Outsourcing unit that provides a virtual financial office function to many national and international businesses.

    Mindful of the special needs and services each outsourcing client requires, Stephen ensures that human and system resources are combined to provide a bespoke solution to fully meet their agreed service requirements.

    Over the years, Stephen has built up an extensive range of business contacts both in the UK and overseas which has provided our internationally based clients with a comprehensive service.

    Stephen advises private clients on their personal taxation and financial affairs. The emphasis is on long term planning, minimising current and future tax liabilities so as to maintain wealth or build up appropriate funds for long term retirement.

    He has specialist experience on advising clients on a full range of VAT issues including land and property, partial exemption and cross border supplies of goods and services.

    Stephen is also Honorary Secretary of the Adler Shine LLP Golfing Society.

  • Chris Taylor

    CHRIS TAYLOR

    PARTNER

    Chris heads the firm's Audit & Assurance department.

    He qualified with RSM (formerly Baker Tilly) where he initially specialised in audit and financial reporting before working in their corporate finance department for six years.

    Chris has a large portfolio of audit clients in a range of different industry sectors. He is responsible for ensuring clients receive an audit that is robust, of high quality and which delivers value.

    Chris also has extensive experience in Transaction Services. He has worked on numerous acquisitions, disposals and stock market flotations, with particular emphasis on the AIM and AQSE Markets where he has acted as Reporting Accountant on over 40 transactions for both UK and international companies with market capitalisations of up to £250 million.

    Chris has assisted many companies in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards and has also provided valuation services, such as share option valuations under IFRS 2 (FRS 102).

    As the firm's technical and compliance partner, Chris is responsible for ensuring all professional staff are kept abreast and are fully compliant with the rapidly changing regulatory and reporting environment.

    Craig heads the firm's Entrepreneurial Services division.

    Craig joined the firm as a mathematics graduate & has quickly established himself as a fully qualified Chartered Accountant equipped with the skills to attend to the needs of owner-managed entrepreneurial clients.

    He works in general practice advising on a wide range of local & international accounting, auditing & taxation issues.

    Craig's clients are mainly based in the property, leisure & entertainment sectors.

    Stuart is a highly skilled and experienced Chartered Accountant.

    Nik leads the firm’s Tax Services team, responsible for delivery of Corporate Tax advisory and compliance.

    As a Chartered Tax Adviser and qualified accountant, Nik advises corporations, start-ups, owner managed businesses on a range of complex tax issues such as restructuring and employment tax as well as large scale tax investigations.

    Nik’s joined us from BDO where his background in UK and international corporate tax enables us to advise shareholders on the personal tax implications of corporate structuring and transactions, ensuring a holistic approach to tax planning is delivered.

    He has considerable experience advising on share and business acquisitions and disposals, and expertise in all aspects of share incentive arrangements, ranging from the adoption of employee share schemes to highly tailored share-based arrangements for senior management.

    Nik also advises on the tax aspects of funding through EIS and SEIS for both investors and investee companies.

    Ray has been in public practice as a Chartered Accountant since 1961 and recognised by the ICAEW for over 50 years membership.

    Ray's tax expertise revolves around capital taxes, including Inheritance Tax and Capital Gains Tax, as well as Stamp Duty Land Taxes.

    His work extends to advising on international individual and corporate tax structures and all trust taxation matters.

    Elizabeth has proven herself to be at the forefront of evolutionary changes in payroll processing, being an early adopter, pioneering RTI and Auto Enrolment.

    As such, Elizabeth’s credentials are widely recognised and she chairs numerous industry forums and judging panels.
